BrownGuard 2000 elbow orthosis type 01

The BrownGuard 2000 elbow orthosis type 01 is made of 3D knit fabric with hook-and-loop fasteners. The orthosis includes metal splints without flexion restrictions with a biaxial joint on both the medial and lateral sides of the elbow joint. The elbow orthosis works by affixing the elbow joint to produce the required therapeutic effect. The orthosis can be unfastened and the effect is supported by two metal splints with a biaxial joint and two tension pulls above and below the elbow. The patient should feel a slight, not uncomfortable pressure along the entire length of the elbow orthosis.

Unfasten the orthosis along its full length and place it on the elbow area so that the splint is positioned at the medial and lateral side of the elbow, and fasten the hook-and-loop straps. To ensure fixation, tighten the hook-and-loop straps using the metal buckles both above and below the elbow. When putting on the orthosis, it should not come into contact with sharp objects (e.g. jewellery or long nails). If you use body cosmetics, wait about 15 minutes after application before putting on the orthosis. In case of visible mechanical damage, do not continue to use the orthosis and preferably replace it with a new one.
